Speaking for Ourselves: Black Autistic Poets
On April 18th, 2026 at Just Book-Ish, Imani had the privilege of curating and hosting a reading and conversation centering Black autistic poetics in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of the City of Boston.
To celebrate the occasion, they distributed broadsides of “grandma, we are poets” by Lucille Clifton, an underrated text in the history of African-American writing about autism.
